Frederick alms houses and local memory on Patrick Street

A 1940 Daily News piece recalls two historic almshouses on Patrick Street west of Bentz Street and notes the 1786 and 1796 houses on the north side. It mentions the Potter’s Field behind the almshouse, burial of Tories from 1781, and that the Patrick Street almshouse remained in use until Montevue opened in 1870.
