Heater's IslandMystery of Potomac island and Indian village
Heater's Island in the Potomac near Loudoun County has a deep history from the Piscataway tribe to Civil War relics. The land changed hands from Sam Daw to Richard and Charles Heater before selling to the Martin brothers for $6500. Indian artifacts and Civil War bullets wash out with floods as test digs reach depths of five feet revealing sand and clay layers. A separate 1958 American Optical Company income statement reports twenty six weeks ended June 27 with net sales of 38,340,241 and net income of 7,457 prior year 1,503,335.
