County Road Building To Be Suspended
Frederick County will suspend all road construction October 1 amid war needs as highway revenues drop sharply. The State Roads Commission and Legislative Council agreed to stop new work and focus on maintenance until wartime restrictions on rubber and fuel ease. A bill to allow maintenance use of county funds will be drafted for January passage. Dr Rudolph M Rau paid about 20000 for 280 acres in Carrollton Manor and New Bremen near Buckeystown, transferring to Graff.
