Novel suspension railway opens near Dresden
The Loschwitz suspension railway in Saxony recently began service as the world’s first mountain railway for passengers. It runs from Loschwitz on the Elbe river about five miles from Dresden to the Roselitvitz heights offering a fine view of the city. Each car carries 50 passengers and weighs 12.8 tons when full.
