Grand jury ends probe into Frederick County murder case
A Frederick County grand jury returned sealed indictments for theft, carjacking, and child abuse while the Tracey Kirkpatrick murder probe ended with no arrests. Miss Kirkpatrick, 17, was stabbed to death March 15, 1989, at a clothing store in Westridge Shopping Center. Police found her body in a rear storeroom and ruled out robbery. State's Attorney Scott Rolle said the panel probing the death has been disbanded though the case remains open. the killer knew the victim and appeared to have hated her. Rolle expects arrests next week on unrelated indictments, the first carjacking indictment in the county. A new 23-member grand jury will begin in mid September 1995 and serve until February 1996. Rolle praised the February panel for good service and says cases with more serious felonies may be sent to grand juries.
