Fisher charges third of MontCo deputies uncertified
In Rockville a candidate for Montgomery County Sheriff accuses the office of employing a third of its deputies without state certification. He cites Maryland Police Training Commission memos showing 51 uncertified deputies in March and 25 still uncertified in July, with missing rape crisis training and firearms qualifications. Official responses deny widespread noncompliance and defend the current certification status.
