Frederick officials, backed by the Maryland Congressional delegation, push to raise the 45 to 55 percent federal allotment for the on dollar sewer project. City Attorney Edward J. Smith says the application isn’t withdrawn and that the city will receive $452,295 as an outright grant only if it covers the remaining costs. A August 19 meeting will finalize the plan with the State Board of Health.

The county reports its only infantile paralysis case, a ten week old boy named Lee Foyle, son of Russell Fogle of 21 East Fourth Street.
