The 25th Thurmont and Emmitsburg Community Show will run September 11 to 13 at Catoctin High School Thurmont with exhibits accepted September 10 from 6 to 9 pm and September 11 from 8 to noon. Entries include up to three quilts and three afghans per family.

Maryland Enacts Thistle Control Law With 18 Month Delay
Maryland adopts a new thistle control law sections 9501 through 9504 to join noxious weeds including Johnsongrass. Enforcement starts January 1 1083 with an educational campaign and research support by University of Maryland specialists and refinement by state officials. The measure applies to landowners renters and managers across farmland rights of way shopping centers developments and all land in the state.
