Tank Wagon 1 a 1300 gallon tanker on a 1977 Mack chassis with 1500 gallon tote unloads in 9 seconds, 727,000 price. A 750 gpm pumper on a 1977 Chevrolet chassis for water supply and attack use 45000. Brush 15 a 1967 four wheel drive Jeep converted for off road brush duty with 250 gallon tank and 150 gpm pump donated via Civil Defense.

Goldstein urges rejection of D C commuter tax plan
Maryland State Comptroller Louis L. Goldstein urged Congress and President Carter to reject a proposed D C commuter tax that would tax Maryland residents working in the District. He warned a $30 million tak e from the Maryland treasury and double tax filing for Montgomery and Prince George's counties. He cited Baltimore area residents paying over $30 million annually to D C taxes and urged reciprocity as fair. He also noted Maryland must still fund services for residents and families and criticized diverting funds to D C.

Minority bids to be increased in Maryland contracts
ANNAPOLIS AP In an effort to raise minority participation the Maryland Department of General Services will allow only black bidders on state purchasing contracts under 35000 dollars. The policy, experimental for now, targets a minimum 10 percent minority share but applies only to black vendors. The department purchases 85 to 90 million dollars in goods yearly, with only a few million in sub 5000 dollar purchases. The plan may be revised in one to two months.
