Grammer Case Before State Appeals Court

Defense lawyers in Annapolis urged the Court of Appeals to overturn G Edward Grammer’s first degree murder verdict, arguing second degree murder at most and that publicity tainted the trial. They claimed press and TV coverage biased jurors and cited police involvement in promoting a lack of impartiality. Grammer, 36, was convicted in Baltimore for killing his wife Dorothy May Grammer in their overturned car, with motive linked to a Canadian secretary. The State has six weeks to respond, with oral arguments set for October.
