Viet Cong forces shelled Bien Hoa air base outside Saigon three times today, killing two civilians and wounding nine. Viet Cong officials claimed retaliation for South Vietnamese air strikes, while government spokesman reports noted attacks on Tan Uyen outposts and three soldiers killed. US carrier Ranger linked rumors remained unconfirmed. Thieu forecast no policy change under Ford and praised Nixon's departure.
The Committee for the Re-Election of the President will pay the Democratic National Committee 775000 dollars to settle a civil suit tied to the Watergate break in.
