Brief Blackout Affects Potomac Edison Customers
About 50 customers in a one block area on the west side of Market Street and the south side of West Second Street lost power for an hour Friday from 5 30 to 6 30 p m as workers replaced two primary line fuses. A car backing into a guy wire caused the outage which began when the first fuse blew and worsened the overload. Restoration followed quicker fuse replacement and locating the second fuse. The blackout coincided with arena sales and dinner preparations in the area.
