Chicago Milk Code Raises Retail Milk Prices
A Chicago area milk price control under the Agricultural Adjustment Act and National Industrial Recovery Act would require dealers to buy at a set price and sell at fixed prices. About 25 percent of Chicago milk buyers would pay 10 cents a quart instead of 61 cents, threatening independent dealers while five or six large companies dominate the market.
