Madrid Aug 10 The assassination of Premier Canovas del Castillo appears the result of an anarchist plot. The killer Michele Angine Goili, 26, born near Nantes, claimed to act for vengeance and said he obeyed orders from a secret society. He sought Rizal’s execution and had ties to Barcelona and Naples. Canovas’s wife urged him to repent as the assassin defended his act as duty.
