Stocks rebound as inflation fears ease on Monday
New York markets closed higher led by the Dow up 6.79 points to 3753.81 as investors shifted focus from inflation to bonds and a stronger dollar. Volume traded on the NYSE reached 217.67 million shares while major indices such as the S P 500 and Nasdaq finished up. In Washington, short term Treasuries rose with three month bills at 4.43 percent and six month bills at 4.93 percent in weekly auctions.
