British forces pursuing the Turkish force defeated at Romani have reached an entrenchment six miles east of Katia, about thirty miles east of the Suez Canal. An official statement notes battlefield clearance and a sizable cache of rifles and war materiel, with two hundred Turkish dead buried near the August 4 counterattack area. Aerial bomb attacks on Port Said and Suez caused little damage and few casualties.
