Carroll County Fair highlights include grand champion lamb sale
At the Carroll County Fair in Westminster Hampstead resident Martin Hill paid 3150 dollars for Charles Ingram's 90 pound grand champion lamb, the top bid among 49 lambs sold as the fair neared its end. R F Kline of Frederick and St Clair Enterprises of Kemptown bought the lamb back for resale. The sale supported the county 4-H livestock program with proceeds donated to the club and camping fund.

Rain across the Plains dampened conditions with a flash flood watch in southwest to west central Iowa after heavy rain. Omaha recorded 3.77 inches, while Council Bluffs saw 4.4 inches Friday night. Scattered showers extended from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi Valley and into parts of Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arkansas with a mix of sun and clouds elsewhere.
