Low-cost insurance plan awaits court ruling in Baltimore
A Maryland House Senate subcommittee awaits a Baltimore Circuit Court decision on Blue Cross SelectCare. The plan offers 15 percent premium cuts to subscribers using approved hospitals, while eight Baltimore hospitals remain ineligible. Critics warn of broader impacts on nonparticipating hospitals and employee benefits. The judge’s ruling, expected Oct 1, could shape whether SelectCare proceeds.
