Torrential rain last night and early today caused severe flooding in Richmond’s West End and nearby Henrico County. No deaths, several minor injuries. About 53 inches of rain fell in the West End since 4 p.m. yesterday while East End airport gauge showed .75 inches. The downpour began around 9 p.m. and lingered into the morning, flooding streets, submerging cars, washing out a small bridge, and leaving water six feet deep on one street.
