Van Crash Kills Three at I-75 Georgetown Kentucky

A two vehicle wreck on I-75 near Georgetown Kentucky left three dead and about a dozen injured. An Australian teenager and Alan Hession of Queensland were killed, with a third victim dying later at UK Hospital. Police said several overseas riders were hospitalized in Lexington and reports identified victims and survivors.

Erin’s rain ends record heat streak in Baltimore area

From July 12 through August 5 the Baltimore region logged 25 days of 90 plus degree heat, surpassing the 1988 record of 21. Frederick County saw 90 to 100 degree highs, while rainfall averaged below normal. The droughtlike heat echoed July 1991 conditions with 20 days at or above 90.

Warbird pilot to join WWII commemoration flight

Ralph Manna of Wolfsville, 57, will fly his 1942 L-3B grasshopper, nicknamed the grasshopper for low slow flight, as part of Freedom Flight America. The two seater veteran aircraft, one of 875 built, joined a parade of WWII planes from California to New York to honor the war's end. The event runs through next Monday, ending with a pass by the Statue of Liberty.
