Public radio's Annoying Music goes national

Jim Nayder, creator of the weekly Annoying Music show on WBEZ-FM, has built a three minute program of annoyingly bad songs that started as a 17 month experiment and is now expanding coast to coast. Listeners tune in for quirky niche humor without intentional comedy, selecting tracks like It's a Small World and Yesterday while keeping to a ruleset that excludes clearly humorous or bad intent. The show fits public radio's culture emphasis, with general manager Torey Malatia noting its place in the lineup.
