Quynn's Hardware to Become Quynn's Mercantile Restaurant
Frederick's long running Quynn's Hardware, dating to 1796, may be reborn as a combined restaurant and mercantile. New owners Deborah Armstrong and Frank Hann plan a two floor setup with a family oriented restaurant upstairs and a bar with retail on the first floor. They will restore preserved wood beams and relics, keep seed and specialty items, and move toward selling seeds and bulbs alongside regional dishes. The project aims to honor the building's antique character while leveraging its historic image.

Adamstown fights water fee burden in contamination fix
Adamstown residents pressed Frederick County commissioners to fund public water for the town where wells are contaminated. The plan to extend a water line could require all residents to connect, triggering fees for some unaffected households. Community leaders urged full EPA funding. if unavailable, costs should be county and state covered until pollution sources are found. County estimates total system cost at 350000 dollars, with home connections costing 12 to 17 dollars per foot. EPA funding may cover only the deeper laterals for the 15 worst-contaminated homes.
