Closing chapter in Dr Gill career ends at sea
Dr Charles K Gill a veterinarian once from Frederick died of fever aboard a voyage to France while in French service transporting horses for Allied war use. His body was buried at sea after illness struck mid ocean. He was about 30, remembered in Frederick and Middletown where he faced misconduct charges and a divorce. His arrest warrants for concealed weapons and giving liquor to minors haunted his later years. A Memphis inventor who created a street deflector declined patenting it.
