Young sheep breeder digs Civil War relics in Carroll Co
Thirteen year old Hampstead sheep farmer John Hale and his 14 year old friend Jonathan Gibson of Taneytown pursue Civil War relics on their Carroll County farm using two brass rods as divining tools. They exhibited sheep at the fair, with Hale placing in the breeding ewe class and both boys entering other events. They also recently reenacted Little Round Top at Gettysburg and plan further digging at a foundation site found after a post hole. Nearby Lewistown residents plan a meeting about a Lewistown water sewage treatment plant near Utica Road, citing concerns for Fishing Creek and the Utica covered bridge.
