An 83 year old North Carolina woman failed to stop at a stop sign at the Route 26 Route 355 intersection and was struck by a southwestbound car. Miss Alice R. Bason 83 Burling Xx C was driving a 1956 Oldsmobile that crossed Route 26 and was hit by a 1959 Vauxhall driven by William H L Main Jr. Damage estimated at 3800 total with the Oldsmobile damaged more. No injuries occurred. Bason was charged with failing to stop for a stop sign.
