In the Maryland Eastern Shore heavy rains caused widespread flooding with standing water and washed out roads dams bridges and culverts. City water supplies were threatened by ground seepage and a chlorine treatment was ordered. rail and road closures disrupted travel and a number of bridges were closed or washed out.
