Republican Party Shows Bold Platform At State Convention In Baltimore

A forthcoming Republican State Convention in Baltimore aims to denounce the special legislative session while promising a strict platform. It pledges a primary election law and a corrupt practices act, along with an oyster law and stance on the federal census issue. Isaac A. Barder is a receptive, nonchalant candidate for comptroller, while Thomas Parran leads for clerk of the court, with Belt and Waddell among others considered. Significant primary results occur in Montgomery and Carroll counties, signaling shifts toward Pearce’s faction in Talbot and Allegany counties show mixed outcomes. Excursion delays disrupt travel between Frederick and Baltimore, while many travelers visit Luray and Frederick.
