A faulty light ballast blamed for a three alarm fire that started above the card section and spread through the restaurant and stockrooms. Firefighters battled the flames over about an hour and saved pharmacy records, with estimated damage near $1 million.
A lightning bolt during a Sunday storm struck five vacationers on Ocean City beach. Sonia Hernandez and Jose Santos Ortiz died on arrival. Delfin Cedillo died later.
