Diary extracts cover 1862 war scenes at Antietam and Harper's Ferry
The entry from Engelbrecht’s diary recalls the 1862 battles near Sharpsburg and the chapters of war as 4 000 wounded soldiers are cared for in Frederick. It notes pontoon bridges used for crossings and lists names of residents and nurses involved, with a closing vignette on a Baltimore family and church ministering through four generations.
