Twenty years ago George Gunther of Taneytown displayed the grand champion female Three D’s Merry Joyce, a four year old, at the Western Maryland Guernsey Field Day in Westminster. A total of 104 animals were shown. Col. George D. Paxson, former Frederick resident and son of G. C. Pax, took command of the U S Army Overseas Supply Agency in San Francisco. Frederick blanked Brunswick 10 0 in Maryland State League baseball. Brown tripled and doubled as Weddle and Hammond produced extra base hits. Thompson tripled for the losers. In a seven inning rain delayed game Donnie Neel pitched and Dick Sneadner batted Sansville to a 3 2 Maryland State League victory over Thurmont. Neel struck out five and walked none.
