Nixon urges Khrushchev invitation to United States
Vice President Nixon urged that Premier Khrushchev be invited to the United States to correct real misconceptions about the U.S. He said Eisenhower must decide when and whether to extend the invitation. Nixon argued a visit would show American strength and democratic values while not converting either side to new systems. He noted such a trip could help Khrushchev see how the U.S. economy works and reduce misperceptions.
