Sykesville police chief charged with drunken driving
Marvel W. Coffey, 48, police chief of Sykesville, was arrested early Sunday on a motorcycle for drunk driving and for driving the wrong way on West Patrick Street. He faces charges of drunk driving, wrong way riding, and operating a motorcycle without a valid license. Trial set for Sept. 1. Coffey was released by authorities.
