Urbana Maryland One of Frederick County's Picturesque Towns
A writer notes Urbana is among Frederick County Maryland’s most picturesque towns with a long history. The piece traces Urbana’s early settlement by Bealls and others, its early structures including Zion church and a colonial-era tavern, and mentions later schools and the London military academy. It highlights the town’s scenic setting near Sugar Loaf Mountain and Bennett’s Creek, and lists prominent local families and notable residents.
