Radio equipment installed on county fire engine
A county fire engine will receive a mobile radio unit for about 500 dollars. Link Radio Corporation representative Isack Hankey says the system will use the Frederick Police Department frequency 35.5 megacycles and transmit from the truck to the police station for traffic aid and directions. Operators will not need FCC third class licenses, and drive licenses remain under Hankey's police department maintenance license. The unit was delivered Thursday after years of company discussion, with a partition added to protect the booster tank from equipment.
