Blighting Of Corn Due To Weather In Frederick County
Weather caused blighting of corn in Frederick County as Dr. Jann Magruder and Henry R Shoemaker found during a Friday inspection. Most fields are mature with limited further damage, though one Walkersville field is brown and likely for ensilage. Sunscalding affected various corn types, with poorer root development linked to wet conditions and late-season heat.
