Counting first improves play in trick one at heart
In four hearts a South declarer follows a strict counting plan. After winning the first trick with spade ace he uses dummy, ruffs clubs, and trumps to drive home ten tricks. At the other table South ruffs spade early but faces down two spades, a diamond, and a club, with West suggesting a trump lead and careful defense to limit the score.
