Charles S V Sanner, local insurance agent, was elected president of the Frederick County YMCA after the annual dinner at the Francis Scott Key Hotel. Immediate past Frederick Chamber of Commerce president Lanner succeeds Warner L. Brittain. Four vice presidents were chosen: Melvin H. Derr, Dwight Collmans, M. Robert Ritchie Jr., and J. Harold Hooper. By-law amendments expand vice presidents to four and require a directors meeting within two weeks. New board members are Edward P. Thomas Jr. and George E. Dredden Jr. The board will meet May 1.

He is a two year state champion and farm leader, with roles in the Farm Bureau, 4-H and church. Miss Blum won a silver cup for top jousting points. Residents Called To Roads Meet
The Frederick County Roads Department plans to rebuild part of Park Mills road this summer as a 65 thousand dollar project. A public meeting is set for Monday at 8 a.m. at Flat Hill Methodist Church to explain plans and secure rights of way. The 1.71 miles from Md 80 to Flint Hill will be widened to 20 feet with five foot shoulders each side for 40 mph traffic. The work aims to fix grades and curves, with no drastic changes, and hinges on obtaining rights of way and possible federal aid. The road serves about 200 cars daily and may occur with a concurrent bridge project over Bennett's Creek once rights are secured.
