Speaker Sees Long Cold War at Lions Club Meeting
Dr. William R Barnhart of Hood College warned at a Lions Club luncheon at the Francis Scott Key hotel that a long cold war with Russia is likely. He argued Russia uses subterfuge and fear to control its people and that peace requires firm, principled diplomacy and defense. Also noted are local Burkittsville 4-H plans and the selection of Mrs Henry Roe Cloud as the 1950 American mother.
