Mr Lemuel David Keller 91 of Frederick died Friday April 23 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was a active member of many local groups and a former president of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. An accomplished trumpet player he performed with area dance bands and loved music. He belonged to the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Theater Organ Enthusiasts.

Police hold Mount Airy man in killing
A disabled Mount Airy resident in a wheelchair was charged with first degree murder after a man visiting his home was shot. Deno B Absher, 33 of 4717 Roop Road, was held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center. Police say they responded to a 2 am call at Absher’s home. Jaron Hoostmin, of Beltsville, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body sent to the state medical examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.
Woman dies rescuing dog on highway near Westbound 17
Leslie Danielle Welden aged 37 from 220 Bentley Court Hagterstown attempted to rescue her dog on I 70 near the 46 mile marker. She stepped into the westbound lanes and was struck by a vehicle after the Ford Escort driver had pulled onto the shoulder. The dog followed into the fast lane, prompting her halted attempt and leading to fatal injuries. Police report indicate the incident occurred late Saturday with details continuing on Page A10.
