Interceptor Would Cut Sewage Costs for Walkersville
Officials said the Monocacy interceptor sewer would lower treatment costs for Walkersville residents by feeding sewage to Frederick City’s plant. Frederick City engineer Rothenhoefer noted a proposed eight cent per thousand gallons rate, among the lowest in the city, and tied to volumes. The agreement bounds the commission’s charges to city rates for similar volumes, aiming for lower overall costs.
