Complaints Over Advertising Fees At Frederick Rodeo
The Frederick Chamber of Commerce reported complaints from downtown merchants about an outside agency from Washington using the South End Civic Association name to solicit banner advertising for the June 15 rodeo at the Frederick Fairgrounds. The agency claims to represent SECA and keeps all banner funds, while the local group receives only a flat fee and rights to operate concession stands. The civic association shifted to a flat $100 fee due to fairground rental costs, with proceeds supporting the South End Civic Center and children's programs.
