Zoo moves exotic stock to isolated New York facility
Dr. Percell Taylor describes relocating immigrant animals to a quarantine center 60 miles from New York to prevent disease spread and protect stock and poultry. He notes the pain and learning curve, but believes the upgraded facility will be safer and more effective for treating rare species while weighing animal trauma against scientific value. The piece also mentions ongoing events in San Diego where 1600 women ran a 10,000 meter race amid heavy rain.
