Fire Sweeps Three Annapolis Apartment Buildings
Firemen and police rescued about a dozen residents as flames swept three Main Street apartment buildings in Annapolis in the early hours. Four shops below were damaged by fire smoke or water as three fire companies and a Naval Academy unit fought the blaze. Emory G. Bowen called the damage extensive and states investigators will determine the exact cause, with a possible start behind the L. P. Masterman Hat Stop.
