Fatal Dynamite Explosion Visits Mt Washington Shop

A quantity of dynamite stored in a Mt Washington blacksmith shop on Natchez street exploded, wrecking the building and injuring two, with four others hurt. The water boy, 17, was killed instantly. The blast affected nearby houses and damaged the smith’s residence. Gallagher and his son were badly hurt. The dynamite belonged to local contractors near an excavation.
