Test Rocket Is Fired at Mugu Demonstrates Ocean Launches
At Mugu California the Navy showcased a small Hydra rocket rising from a lagoon as a potential ocean launching pad concept. The device, nicknamed by observers as a bowling pin or fence post, reached about 70 feet before returning to the water, powered briefly by solid fuel. Navy officials say the idea could cut costs for space probes and satellite launches.另 In Los Angeles Peter Lawford became a US citizen after taking the oath in a ceremony with his wife Pat and sister of Senator Kennedy.
