Awards totaling 17900 in damages in Fed Court
Judge William C. Coleman awarded two local men seventeen thousand nine hundred dollars after a four day damage suit against the Federal Government and Cahoon trucking firm members. Eyler received twelve thousand four hundred dollars and Heffner five thousand as the government was found blameless. The case stems from a July 19 1952 collision on U S 240 near Hendersons Corner involving an Army weapons carrier and a Cahoon tractor trailer crossing the center line enroute from Fort Belvoir Virginia to Letterkenny Ordnance Depot Pennsylvania. Mathias and Mathias represented Heffner and Eyler.
