Neola Iowa April 23 Kelly and his industrial army began their long overland march from Council Bluffs. 1100 residents greeted the column with flags and cheers as the army moved toward Avoca and Des Moines. Dalton Gang in Oklahoma encounter tale recounted

Arkansas City corre­spondent reports the Dalton gang did not fire into the Miller house and fled three miles away as the fracas began. From Monday afternoon to Wednesday morning eighty shots were fired into the house. four shots were returned by Miller occupants. Two Miller brothers, a wife, a girl, and two German workers were in the Miller home. the German was shot in the hip and a girl wounded. The Miller men later escaped on two saddled horses. In other items, four masked men robbed a Pennsylvania section house, post office, express office, and stores at Ganister, then fled. An elopement in Goren, Indian Territory, left Edwin C. Witherell penniless with his wife and child in Stillwater. In Toledo, stockholders clash during a railroad meeting between Lackawanna and Astor factions.

Notorious Burglar Fatally Shot Attempting Escape
