Glendening Seeks 4 Million for Orchard Grove Elementary

Gov. Parris Glendening announced a 4 million dollar funding plan for Orchard Grove Elementary to be split as 2.5 million in fiscal 1996 and 1.6 million in fiscal 1997. The project totals about 9 million with Frederick County pledging 5 million, construction expected to begin July 1 after approval by the Board of Public Works on May 3.

Governor Glendening touts Maryland business gains near 100 days

Governor Parris Glendening framed his first 100 days as a push for a stronger business climate in Maryland. Three year old critical after two story fall

A 3 year old Frederck girl was critically injured Friday afternoon after falling from a second story window above East Second Street. Rachel Clutch was flown to Children’s Hospital in Washington with a broken leg and fractured skull. She remained in critical condition Saturday morning. Witnesses said the window screen dislodged when she pressed against it. Rescue personnel transported her to Frederick County Municipal Airport for air transfer.
