Brunsack town chooses Thomas for Board of Education
Seven applications were considered for the Brunsack Board of Education appointment. A central figure, Mr Thomas, a Frederica hardware businessman, was selected amid claims the southern county has been underrepresented since 1923. Thomas, a Democrat, runs P. L. Hargett Co. with his sons, has real estate holdings, and educated at Adamstown and Hood College. His daughter Martha is set to graduate in education. Two convicts escaped San Quentin Prison and held a woman hostage for six hours from a fishing pier on San Francisco Bay threatening to kill her. They surrendered without violence after tossing knives into the bay and allowing a conference with officials.
