Maryland seeks state fish and game law to fund protection
The Maryland State Game and Fish Protective Association backs a proposed law for the legislature to enact. It would create a $30,000 fund for game protection and propagation, require licenses to hunt or pursue game, set fees of $1 for residents and $10 for non residents, and establish penalties from ten to twenty five dollars. Exemptions include farm land owners and tenants on their own or leased land, with non resident taxpayers possibly classified as residents at a $500 assessment. Licenses expire June 1 and may be issued by mail, with funds strictly for protection and propagation, and exemptions for Susquehanna Flats and counties with existing resident licenses.
